A high standard of accommodation with en-suite facilities

Freedom of choice Everyone has a fundamental right to retain their personal dignity and independence, irrespective of the severity of their physical or mental infirmity. At Oriel, each resident's social, emotional, religious, cultural and political needs are fully accepted and respected. We keep all residents involved and informed about their individual assessment of need. We also hold regular meetings with our residents, and actively encourage them to express their opinions about the day-to-day running of the home. All suggestions are carefully considered. Coming to Oriel Care Home is seen as the beginning of a new and different chapter of life, and with positive support and encouragement, residents continue to lead happy and active lives. Oriel has always been regarded by residents as their home. Relatives and guests are welcome to visit at any time, and are even invited to take a meal together (by prior arrangement).
|
A wide range of activities, outings and events We have our own safe and secure transport, allowing us to make regular visits to places of interest, shops, pubs, garden centres and parks. Outings are offered several times each week.
We encourage everyone to take a daily walk around the beautiful gardens before lunch - with, of course, assistance where needed. A monthly Holy Communion service is held at the home, and visiting clergy from all denominations are always welcome.

Meals & Catering
We provide a varied and balanced diet; and we are always happy to accommodate residents' individual dietary requirements. In addition to the three main meals of the day, we also offer mid-morning and mid-afternoon drinks with biscuits, as well as an additional light supper if required.
|
Hairdressing, nail care and aromatherapy.
We even have our own hair salon, and a fully-qualified and insured hairdresser visits twice a week. An aromatherapist also visits us each week to give hand and arm massages, or a full-body massage if required. |
Fully trained and caring staff Our fully trained staff are on call 24 hours a day. Most have worked for Oriel for many years and this continuity of care helps to provide a happy, homely environment. Residents are able to receive continual care and find companionship and security.
|
Comprehensive healthcare arrangements Residents may, of course, continue to use the services of their own doctor (if still in the same NHS area), or they may choose to join the list of local doctors that serve Oriel Care Home. Community nurses offer attention whenever required, and our own qualified staff are able to dispense medication under the supervision of the local pharmacist. Other specialists visit the home where necessary to provide chiropody services, physiotherapy, dental and optical treatment.
