Oriel's tastefully decorated and centrally heated accommodation is well furnished and welcoming. Two passenger lifts allow residents to move freely between their own private rooms and the communal conservatories, dining and lounge areas.

Our well-tended and secluded gardens are popular with residents. Level entrances provide easy access for a daily walk around the grounds.

Alternatively, residents can enjoy the garden and its wildlife from the comfort of either the side or rear conservatory .

Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished to a high standard. All rooms are equipped with nurse-call and intercom facilities, TV sockets, BT phone lines, and fire detection. Most bedrooms also possess integral en-suite facilities; and all of our bathrooms are equipped with bath lifts.

We have two sunny conservatories looking out to the secluded gardens, as well as lounge areas which residents can use for activities and communal events.

Close care at Oriel's Beech House

Beech house is a close care unit on the same site as Oriel Care Home. The unit has recently been refurbished to very high standards and consists of four individual flatlets, each with en-suite facilities.

Beech house has been specifically designed for the use of four elderly people who are still able to do most things for themselves and want to maintain most of their independence, but have the security of other people around them and a safe environment in which to live. It is in essence, a half-way house before full residential care is decided upon.

Outside, the paths have all been made to connect through our beautiful gardens. Gentle slopes without steps, provide access  to the various parts of the Oriel Care Home complex, with convenient seating areas along the way.

The residents of Beech House have the benefit of the following services provided for them as part of the initial care package:

  • A single room with an en suite WC and basin and lockable entrance.

  • Bed, fitted furniture, all linen, curtains and carpets.

  • Television.

  • Mid-day meal.

  • Refrigerator and tea making facilities in their own room.

  • Use of fully fitted kitchen for meal and snack preparation.

  • Telephone installed and connected (does not include line rental or call charges).

  • 24 hour call out for emergency assistance.

  • All heating and lighting.

  • Bath fitted with hydraulic hoist to enable all residents to bathe comfortably with or without assistance.

  • Washing and ironing service (does not include dry cleaning).

  • Up to five hours care services per day for personal care, house keeping, bathing, shopping, meal preparation.

  • Full use of all Oriel Care Home facilities and inclusion in all activities and outings (extra cost may be charged for some outings).

  • Option to buy in extra care services if necessary.

  • Hairdressing, chiropody and aromatherapy services are also available at extra cost.

The building is fitted to the recommendations of the West Midland Fire Service with smoke and fire detection, self closing fire doors and portable fire-fighting appliances. Beech House is a no-smoking environment.

Everyone living in Beech House will need to be independently mobile and capable of using stairs. When care staff are not on duty at Beech House, a trained member of staff will be on call.

We are sorry that pets cannot be accommodated.

There are no maintenance charges, and water rates and Council Tax included. Payment for staying at Beech House will be an all-in charge payable calendar monthly in advance.
